Rise of the Duskborn - New Cards!

Seasonal cards

As part of the Rise of the Duskborn Season we are releasing another six new Cards over the the next two weeks! These Cards will be be available through packs in the Shard Shop.

New Cards - Available 20th August

Basil Williams

Natalya's childer, Basil begrudgingly looks after the hardware shop while she's out partying. While managing the orders and inventory, he discovered her dark secret hidden in the back of the shop and now desperately wants to solve the mystery behind it.

Key Card Information:

• Series: 3

• Blood: 2

• Power: 2

• Ability: On Reveal: Add 2 random Ingredients to hand.

Basil gives you a solid, reliable source of Ingredients. At a low Cost, he helps accelerate your gameplan, allowing you to play as many Ingredients as possible.

Paris

She moved to London to study fashion, though her love of punk and upcycling eventually drew her to a group of Thin-Bloods based in Camden. After her Embrace, everything was flipped upside down. Now she uses her skills to scavenge Ingredients to help the other members of the Alsatia Council.

Key Card Information:

• Series: 4

• Blood: 4

• Power: 3

• Ability: On Reveal: Play all Ingredients from your Discard pile into random empty spaces.

Paris lets you reuse Ingredients that have been defeated or discarded, allowing you to get much more value from them. Since she plays them, they will Reveal (unlike token-creating effects), allowing them to synergise with other abilities.

Snakefly

When he arrived in the UK, his only possession was his treasured guitar. He spent much of his mortal life moving from squat to squat, doing odd jobs and playing gigs wherever he could. One night, his squat was attacked, and when he awoke, he found himself a Thin-Blood. After years spent surviving and seeking vengeance, he managed to commit diablerie on a Brujah, taking on their clan. He still seeks to support the Duskborn and is a champion of the outcast.

Key Card Information:

• Series: 5

• Blood: 3

• Power: 3

• Ability: On Reveal:  Give +2 Power to all Mortals in your hand and deck.

Since most Mortals (Thin-Bloods included) have very low Power, having a way to buff them all is a huge boost to the deck. As he affects a large number of cards, the total increase in Power can be massive, helping your Mortals stay on the board longer.

New Cards - Available 27th of August

Olympia Fairfax

Olympia obviously stands out from the other cards, but she has a close relationship with the Thin-Bloods, inasmuch as she's trying to expunge them all from London. As Catherine Deacon's harpy, she sees it as her duty to make a show of force and believes that if she can rid the city of the Duskborn, all naysayers will be silenced.

• Blood: 8

• Power: 14

• Ability: While Prince: You score double Points.
  

  
  

Olympia doubles all Points you'd gain while Prince, aiming to give the slightly struggling pure Elitist archetype a boost. She gives you a powerful scoring tool that can create some interesting new synergies, rewarding you for maintaining enough Power to control the Prince and Knights.

Asha Rani

Cormac's childer, she's learned the ways of Athanor Corporis from him. For her, the Embrace was one of the best things to ever happen, as it opened up a whole new world of skills, knowledge and power. Though her deep curiosity and tendency to ignore Cormac's warnings may one day get the better of her...

Key Card Information:

• Series: 4

• Blood: 4

• Power: 1

• Ability: When you trigger an Ingredient ability: Gain +1 Power. (wherever this is)

Asha provides another strong payoff for playing lots of Ingredients and repeatedly triggering their effects. Since most Thin-Bloods have little Power to speak of, having a scaling source of Power is a valuable addition to the deck.

Batch

They travelled to London to find their twin sister, Paris, who had gone missing in the city. After getting into their fair share of trouble, they ended up being Embraced by Paris, ostensibly for their own protection. Afterwards, they took to Alchemy like a duck to water, learning traditional alembic-based methods from several other Thin-Bloods, especially the skilled Jax Cook.

• Blood: 2

• Power: 2

• Ability: After you reveal an Ingredient:  Trigger its ability again then move it to the Discard pile.

Batch doubles the value of all your Ingredients, but sacrifices board presence to gain access to more triggers. They can open up a lot of powerful new synergies by re-triggering Ingredients and putting them into your discard pile for other cards to use.
