The new ranked leaderboard system
Over our global launch weekend we had an issue where some players reach over 5000 Leaderboard Points. This was a bug which we've addressed.
We have made sure everyone is at their correct leaderboard position to keep the playing field fair.
There was also some confusion around the new system that we wanted to address.
How the system works
When you win a game you gain Leaderboard Points based on comparing your Leaderboard Points to your opponent's MMR (Matchmaking Rank). This is essentially a version of the ELO system, an established system for ranking players based on skill, which means that beating a more skilled opponent earns you more Leaderboard Points.
A key difference from the classic ELO is that this system somewhat factors in Staking. The most Leaderboard Points it is possible for anyone to gain from a single game is 80.
We're still trialling this system but our goal is to ensure we promote healthy competition at the top end of the leaderboard.
Additional Bug Fixes
v1.0.2 is now on the Appstore and Google Play, this version also fixes the following issues:
Fixed various issues around the fullscreen card, such as some players seeing a glitched background
Improve performance around card upgrading
General stability improvements
Fixed issues with viewing unowned cards
Fixed not being able to upgrade a card you’d just acquired e.g. from a Blood Shard pack or season pass
Fixed an issue where Knight Points would appear to come from the wrong card
Thank you
