Theatre of Lies - New Cards!

Seasonal cards

As part of the Theatre of Lies Season we are releasing another six new Cards over the the next two weeks! These Cards will be be available through packs in the Shard Shop.

New Cards - Available 25th of June

Lorenzo Perello

Lorenzo is a classically trained actor. However, afflicted as he is by the Nosferatu bane, Penelope only casts him for monstrous roles. He once tried to branch out and start his own theatre, borrowing large sums of money from Thaddeus to do so, however this was a ploy to put him irrevocably into Thaddeus' debt.

Key Card Information:

• Power: 1

• Ability: On Reveal: Steal 5 Power from a connected enemy card.

We wanted to add some larger scale steal effects, while at the same time allowing players to 'chip away' at strong defensive positions on the scoring spaces. Lorenzo does both of these and lets you massively weaken an enemy card to follow up using his support next turn.

Valora

Despite being a neonate, Valora is making waves for her acting talent and vocal politics. Childer of Jeanne Blanc, she uses her performances and after-show soirees to manipulate hearts and minds to her cause.

• Power: 5

• Ability: On Reveal: Create a Seduced copy of the lowest cost card in your opponent’s hand in an empty or enemy Knight space.

Before, seduce decks would often struggle to really get board presence, as you invest a large portion of your gameplan in seducing enemy cards into your hand. Valora gives you a really strong way to both advance your board position and gain more scoring potential. As she creates a copy, your opponent still has the original card, which allows the overall effect to be more powerful in exchange for losing some of the control aspect of seduce.

Since she creates the copy in play it will not reveal, which can be a double edged sword at times.

Kenneth Glass

Stuck in an endless cycle of cold, terrifying rage and weeping apology, Kenneth wields the power of the mind as a weapon. He uses his role as Primogen to channel funding towards the theatrical arts, as he remembers his less troubled mortal days as an actor fondly.

Key Card Information:

• Series: 5

• Blood: 7

• Power: 11

• Ability: On Reveal: Inflict -2 Power on all other cards.

Kenneth is the ultimate debuffing power card, he is aimed to have a high impact on board when played, while activating all power manipulation synergies a turn earlier than Annabella, but at the cost of not gaining as much power himself.

Fun fact: Kenneth is card no. 9. He was in our first batch of photography. We have been planning him for a long time!

New Cards - Available 2nd of july

Jeanne Blanc

Jeanne spent years as a ghoul in mortal government. Despite Queen Anne forbidding it, her domitor used Jeanne to gain access to the arts council. After her domitor was destroyed in the fall of London, she desperately sought a new master, eventually leading to her embrace. She uses her former skills and contacts to manipulate mortal politics.

• Ability: End of Round: Donate all of this card's Power to your lowest Power card in hand.

  
  

In a power manipulation deck one of the key issues to you can run into is wanting to stack buffs in your hand, but either buffing the wrong cards or only being able to buff cards on board. Jeanne gives you access to a way to redirect your buffs onto a low power but high impact card like Aurum or Yves DuBois.

Bruce Sparks

The lighting manager for Penelope's theatre. While he works on the lights, his true passion lies in finding the dark secrets of other kindred. Working back-stage, he works closely with Sheloa, and wants to get closer to her still, though this may not end well for Bruce...

• Power: 0

• Ability: When an enemy card loses Power: Give +1 Power to your lowest Power card.

To give better support for repeated debuffing opponent cards we also wanted to turn that into a direct upside for you, allowing you to stack up your own buffs and generate additional triggers for cards like Miss Hidaka.

Caspen Vodrak

An actor in Penelope's performance, he has been cast as Loge. In mortal life he set out on his own to become and actor, but sadly couldn't find his path in the industry and ended up homeless. A Malkavian found him and took him in. His sire used his connections to ensure Caspen landed a key role in the production of the ring cycle, however there may be more secretive plans at play...

• Power: 2

• Ability: While in Play: When a card would lose Power, it loses 1 more.

We wanted to give some more support to the debuffing and steal archetypes. As they thrive off repeated small scale effects, increasing all your debuff power by 1 can be a nice boost for the deck, and can be use with cards like Landmine (from Jacob "Toolbox") or Jackie Pincher to protect yourself from the more aggressive archetypes.
