Sheriff Fletcher
Was: 3/4, "After one of your Violent cards wins any Conflict: Score 3 extra Points."
Change: After one of your Violent cards wins any Conflict: Score 3 extra Points. → After one of your Violent cards wins any Conflict: Score 2 extra Points.
Brujah has been quite dominant for a while, and with their strong ability to hold board presence, we felt Sheriff's 3 points were excessive. As player behaviour adapts, we've noticed the Brujah win rate trending downwards, so we want to make a lighter adjustment here.
Muhsin Abas
Was:
4/5, "While in play: Your cards that cost 5 or more cost 1 less."
Change: 4/5 → 4/3
Muhsin Abas had among the highest win rates of any card this season. We want him to remain impactful, but felt there wasn't quite enough counterplay. While the nerf to Power is not huge, it makes him more vulnerable to attacks and a less desirable Rook.
Brittany Webb
Was:
5/1, "On Attack: Steal 5 Power from the enemy card."
Change: Added the 'Elitist' tag.
This was suggested on Discord a while ago, and it felt thematically right. It should also help reinforce that 'Steal' is one of Elitist's core archetypes.
Simon Lee
Was: 1/1, "Move the next card you reveal forwards once (before its On Reveal ability)."
Change:
Move the next card you reveal forwards once (before its On Reveal ability) → After you reveal your next card, move it forwards once
We found this ability’s interaction with On Reveal effects to be unintuitive, as it previously resolved a Conflict if a card moved into an enemy before its On Reveal effect. Now that it triggers after revealing, it cannot prevent On Reveal abilities from activating as intended.
Asano Wraiths
Was: 4/5, "When this would win a Conflict, Murder the enemy card and return to hand with -1 Blood."
Change: 4/5 → 4/9
When we first made this card, we intended it as useful tech to repeatedly Murder, but underestimated the downside of returning to hand. This significant Power buff makes it more desirable to play repeatedly.
Mobster Token (made by Caeser Cornello)
Was: 3/7, Violent
Change: 3/7 → 2/6
The Mobsters were slightly awkward to play at 3 Blood, as you often had many in hand on the final turn but could only play two. With this change, you should be able to make much better use of the ability and avoid getting stuck with too many in hand.
Madamme Tessier
Was: 7/5, Sorcerer, "End of round: Score 2 points per Acolyte you have in play."
Change: End of round: Score 2 points per Acolyte you have in play → On Reveal: Score 4 points per Acolyte you have in play
We had much deliberation around this change. One of Tremere's biggest issues when going for a combo win condition was being too draw-dependent. Often, if you drew Madamme Tessier early and were not disrupted, you'd win easily; otherwise, you’d often struggle. This change reduces draw dependency, introduces a higher skill ceiling in timing her play, and allows for new synergies with future Tremere cards.
Lawrence
Was: 3/3, "On Reveal: Return 2 defeated cards that cost 5 or more to hand; your defeated cards cost 1 less."
Change: 3/3 → 2/3, On Reveal: Return your highest-cost defeated card to hand; your defeated cards cost 2 less
This is a change we’ve wanted for a while. In his old form, it was often too late in the game for his ability to matter. Now he gives more flexibility for which cards to retrieve, and for less Blood, making him easier to use.
Stephen Fane
Was: 5/8, "On Reveal: If Knight, gain +3 Power."
Change: On Reveal: If Knight, gain +3 Power → On Reveal: If Knight or Prince, gain +3 Power
We wanted to give this card more flexibility. Early in the game, you’d often struggle without an ideal turn 4 Prince. Later, we want players to have more valid deckbuilding options, so this decently-stated Elitist should give more choice flexibility.
Thank you
